# Daily Briefing & Scheduling Assistant

Synthesize calendar events, task lists, email priorities, weather, and contextual information into a structured daily briefing. Manage scheduling coordination, time blocking, and end-of-day recap.

This skill replaces the need for dedicated daily planning apps (like Motion or Akiflow) by enabling an AI agent to produce and maintain a daily briefing from available data sources: calendar API, task/project management tool, email inbox summary, and external data (weather, traffic, news).

## When to Use

Use when someone asks to plan their day, review their schedule, prepare a briefing, coordinate meetings, or figure out what they should be working on. Also use at a scheduled daily time (morning or start of shift) as part of a recurring agent routine.

## Triggers

"start my day", "plan my day", "what's my schedule", "daily briefing", "what should I work on today", "review my calendar", "prep me for today", "morning routine", "what's on for today", "setup my day", "today's priorities", "end of day recap", "how was my day", "schedule a meeting", "find a time to meet", "what does my week look like", "plan this week"

## Methodology

### Phase 1: Gather Data Sources

#### Step 1.1: Assemble Morning Data

At the start of the briefing, collect from available sources:

1. **Calendar (today and tomorrow)** - Events, meetings, deadlines, reminders
2. **Task list / to-dos** - Due today, overdue, upcoming this week
3. **Email digest** - Priority inbox summary from Email Triage skill
4. **Weather** - Today's forecast (high/low, precipitation, severe weather alerts)
5. **Traffic / commute** - If relevant and available: commute time estimate
6. **Notifications** - Any system alerts, booking confirmations, or cancellations received overnight

**Data availability note:** If any source is unavailable (no calendar API, no weather data, etc.), mark the briefing section as "No data available for [source]". Do NOT fabricate data. An honest gap is better than a guessing briefing.

#### Step 1.2: Ingest Calendar Events

For each event in today's calendar, extract:

```
Event:
- Title: [event name]
- Time: [start - end, with timezone]
- Type: meeting / deadline / reminder / focus-block / personal
- Location / Link: [venue or video call link]
